POLICIES
Attendance (Missed Lessons)
When you sign up for lesson, you are committing to a weekly lesson and you are reserving that time.
Each student will receive 2 makeup lessons (if a full year student) or 1 makeup lesson (if a term student) on scheduled makeup days IF they notify the teacher in advance and do not have an outstanding balance on their account.
Makeup lessons will be scheduled either during breaks in the schedule, on piano party days or at the end of the term/year.
If the teacher misses a lesson, students will receive a makeup lesson or a lesson credit.
Students are expected to be at their lessons on time, with all required materials and music as extra time will not be given due to student lateness. To discuss student progress, parents are welcome to talk with the teacher during the first five minutes of the student’s lesson or email/call during office hours.
A makeup lesson may be an online lesson instead of an in person lesson, depending on illnesses or scheduling issues.
Discontinuing Lessons
Every student will stop taking lessons at some point. Ideally, this decision is made thoughtfully with plenty of discussion between the teacher, parent, and student so that lessons can cease with a positive sense of closure. For this reason, the teacher asks for one month’s notice in writing prior to discontinuing lessons to receive a refund (if required).
Note: At the discretion of the teacher, students may be asked to discontinue lessons at any time if they have unpaid tuition, or an excess number of absences or unprepared lessons.
